its crazy to think that a food - a vital necessity - can traumatize people so much... akin to being traumatized by, oh say, air... only slightly less so so, is there a story behind the mustard?

good thing there's only one kind of air... well there's clean and dirty and smelly air... but oh well... as for the mustard... grey poupon can burn a young boy's lips.

oy! that would sting ...like the time i tried to smell a jalapeƱo pepper in my garden, age 2, by sticking it up my nose, or when my friend accidently poured sprite in his own eye... so many good (and by good i mean bad) food stories, so little time. my personal trauma came from working in a "high-class" restaurant and slaving away over food that rich people think is classy, then smelling like dirty-gross brine for days afterwards, despite ALL attempts to get clean. its really a lot worse than it sounds... like permanent BO a-la mushrooms ... just think about it needless to say, i no longer work there.
