the best known (internationally) new zealand songwriter... have discovered of late that a lot of elliott fans in america get into neil finn. he is fantastic... buy his album One Nil.
he refuses to work with people who are crap and boring - i stand in awe and applaud mr finn.
i am going to see the shins in... a week! YAY! and i'm going to the barbecue they're having with the brunettes (support band!) because bronwen is violining for them at the moment and... oh... yay! i'm sooo excited!

it was the best equal next to seeing polly harvey at the dogs bollix and seeing brian wilson's smile tour.. a rollicking good time... bizarrely i was pretty much the only one dancing consistantly the whole time...
i could set up a hire-a-crowd business... i'll dance to anything.. well, almost.

devastating news today... paul hester, original drummer for crowded house and one time drummer for the amazing split enz hung himself in elsternwick gardens... father of two young girls and longtime partner to his girlfriend, he had been struggling with depression for some time and upon failing to return from walking his dogs the police were alerted.. : (
hessie was a champion drummer, a proud melbournian and cheeky joker.. he will be missed forever...

tragically it was suicide... he hung himself in Elsterwick park (which isn't too far from where we live at the moment)... the newspapers had big specials about what an awesome guy he was the weekend after it all went down... i feel bad for his kids : (
